Tacrolimus-induced Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome after Heart Transplant: Case Report

چکیده
We describe the case of a patient with recurrent severe headache that occurred after heart transplant surgery. She was diagnosed reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) since typical imaging seen through brain contrast computed tomography. Tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant, suspected as cause RCVS. The treatment switched to cyclosporine, which there rapid improvement her symptoms. This highlights importance immediate diagnosis switch immunosuppressants relieve symptoms and prevent progression neurological dysfunction.

INTRODUCTION Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is characterized by acute severe thunderclap headaches and evidence of multifocal, segmental, reversible vasoconstrictions of the cerebral arteries. Several precipitating factors have been identified and reported, including the use of recreational substances or sympathomimetic drugs and the postpartum state. CASE DESCRIPTION He...

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is a transient multifocal arterial vasoconstriction and dilatation. The term was proposed by a panel of experts1 as a unifying term for a variety of a syndromes characterized by cerebral vasospasms and resultant clinical manifestations of cerebral ischemia. These syndromes include Call–Fleming syndrome, drug-induced cerebral angiopathy, benig...

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is an under-recognised condition. It is characterised by sudden and severe headaches (of "thunderclap" type) associated with multifocal reversible narrowing of the intracranial arteries on neuroradiology. The diagnosis is often established with the resolution of headaches and vasoconstriction. We report two patients with RCVS and review the a...

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndromes (RCVS) are a group of disorders that have in common an acute presentation with headache, reversible vasoconstriction of cerebral arteries, with or without neurological signs and symptoms. In contrast to primary central nervous system vasculitis, they have a relatively benign course. We describe here a patient who was diagnosed with RCVS.

BACKGROUND Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome is characterized by thunderclap headache associated with multifocal vasoconstriction of cerebral arteries in patients without aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The vasoconstriction reverts within three months. We report a 44-year-old man who had a thunderclap headache during sexual intercourse. A similar episode occurred at rest 3...
